We’re seeking a passionate and gifted leader to join our team at Mount Joy Mennonite Church as our Associate Pastor of Worship and Discipleship. This full-time role is a unique 50/50 blend of leading meaningful, Christ-centered worship while equipping and overseeing worship teams, and guiding people deeper in their journey of discipleship.

What You’ll Do

Worship Ministry (50%)

• Plan and lead engaging Sunday worship services that blend contemporary and traditional styles, honoring the cultural diversity of our church.
• Oversee seasonal worship services (Advent, Lent, Easter, etc.) with creativity and collaboration.
• Coordinate worship planning with the Pastoral Team, Media Team, and Creative Arts Team using tools like Planning Center.
• Integrate arts, drama, visuals, and other creative elements into corporate worship.
• Recruit, train, and mentor worship team members, including musicians, tech, and visual arts volunteers.
• Collaborate with Next Gen ministries to foster worship experiences for children and youth.
• Oversee and support the technical aspects of services (sound, lighting, streaming).

Discipleship Ministry (50%)

• Lead the development of a clear and compelling discipleship pathway for our church community.
• Oversee small groups, adult discipleship classes, courses for seekers and new believers, and Next Steps programming.
• Equip and mentor leaders to multiply disciple-makers and foster spiritual growth.
• Help shape Sunday sermon series and occasionally preach or teach as assigned.
• Partner with staff and ministry teams to provide pastoral care and build up the body of Christ.
• Serve alongside the Lead Pastor and leadership teams in shaping the spiritual and strategic direction of the church.

What We’re Looking For

• A spiritually mature follower of Jesus, grounded in the Scriptures and the power of the Spirit.
• A heart aligned with the mission and values of Mount Joy Mennonite Church and the faith and practice of LMC.
• Experience in leading worship services with musical excellence and theological depth.
• Strong administrative and technical ability (especially with sound and video streaming).
• A proven track record of discipling others and developing leaders.
• A collaborative team player who can work across ministry areas with humility and initiative.
• Understanding of how Anabaptist heritage shapes our worship and discipleship life.

Additional Responsibilities

• Participate in staff meetings, ministry leadership team meetings, and denominational gatherings.
• Support the overall ministry of the church as needed.
• Report to the Lead Pastor and be accountable to the congregation via the Church Board.
